The last event of the AfriConEU Networking Academy was a huge success! The Academy completed with a hybrid workshop in Uganda on Digital Marketing for Successful Businesses hosted by Outbox. This workshop supported participants working in brand, marketing, digital media, product management and as well as entrepreneurs to learn how to develop digital marketing strategies that will provide for growth and customer engagement.
Ana Aleixo, Project Manager of INOVA+ introduced to the participants AfriConEU, the First Transcontinental Networking Academy for African and European Digital Innovation Hubs, presenting the opportunities available. Cynthia Kyofuna from Outbox, gave the floor to our first speaker John Birungi Babirukamu, General Manager of Hedge Marketing, to share his insights about social media as a method to promote your business in Uganda. He highlighted the significance of search engines as the majority of people, when they need a product or a service they are searching for it. He also analyzed the importance of engagement by saying that “social media will always have annoyed people. Don’t block them or delete the comments but try to find a way to engage them with your content instead”.
Then the discussion continued with our second speaker, Ethan Bampeire, Team & Marketing Lead at Klark.io, sharing insights about AI and how we can benefit from it. He stated that “AI is changing the game; it’s transitioning us from information to knowledge”.
The workshop was completed with a panel discussion, questions and answers, with the audience sharing the challenges that they are facing.
