On Wednesday, 9th of June 2021, AfriConEU met digitally with DIGILOGIC and HUBiquitous, H2020 projects under the ICT- 58 call. The meeting was organized by the Coordinator of AfriConEU, INOVA+. The meeting kicked off with a roundtable introduction of all participating individuals. This meeting’s objective was for all participants to be introduced to each of the projects, discover common ground and differences, and further elaborate on possible future collaborations. AfriConEU’s Coordinator initiated the discussion by presenting the project’s progress and achievements and further discussing its future aspirations.

The DIGILOGIC project incorporates three pillars of action including DIHs, EU- Africa collaboration, and Smart Logistics, aspiring to create the first African DIH that focuses on Smart Logistics. Its vision is to secure sustainability and success by boosting cooperation and strategic partnerships between European and African DIHs. Its partners are Digital Hub Logistics in Germany, VTT in Finland, FRIULI INNOVAZIONE in Italy, ENDEVA in Germany, Prototipi in Nigeria, Meltwater in Ghana, and BongoHive in Zambia.

The HUBiquitous project is an Innovation Action aiming at creating a joint Africa-Europe Startup & Innovation Ecosystem for long-term collaborations and partnerships. The project aims to increase the technology level and capacity building of 30 local DIHs/TechHubs in 5 African countries. Its consortium consists of InnoTec21 GmbH in Germany, Orange in France, Waziup in Germany, ESN in Belgium, iSpace in Ghana, DTBi in Tanzania, Growthafrica in Kenya, igHub in Nigeria, The District in Egypt, and INSOMNIA CONSULTING in Spain.

Moving forward, it has been decided that ICT-58 projects will further consolidate their partnership, repeating such meetings, with the next one coming up in Autumn 2021.
