The Technology Transfer Process | ECA Hybrid Workshop

March completed with an AfriConEU Networking Academy Workshop in Nigeria! On the 31st of March, Emerging Communities Africa hosted a hybrid workshop, connecting Nigeria with participants from all around the world, exploring “The Technology Transfer Process”.

This workshop aimed at helping Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) to explore the concept of technology transfer (IoT, AI, Big data, etc.), its benefits and the legal framework to protect the technology transfer. It explored the transfer chain, including the transfer concept, technical analysis, and value creation for innovation.

The event started with Gideon Brefo, Co-founder of HapaSpace, presenting the innovation behind the AfriConEU project and introducing to the participants the future events. Our first speaker, Olumbe Akinkugbe, Executive Chairman at Ondo State Information Technology Agency, mentioned the benefits, legal framework & strategies for technology transfer. He stated that “The transfer of technology is at the heart of economic growth. Leveraging on private/public sector partnership will foster technological innovation in different sectors”.

Our second speaker, Kitan David, Founder of Future Academy Africa, joined the event virtually, sharing his insights into how technology has evolved over the last decades. “Deep and intensified work is one of the elements that make the difference today in the modern workplace”, he mentioned.

Overall, it was an interactive workshop with participation and insights about the process of technology transfer. For more information about the event, you can check out AfriConEU’s Twitter page.
