On November 30th, 2021, Outbox, organized a virtual roundtable under the title “AfriConEU Roundtables on  Challenges And Opportunities Of EU- Africa partnership Building”. Based on the model of the previous AfriConEU virtual roundtables the event engaged various stakeholders to interact, discuss and share ideas for the needs of Digital Innovation Hubs in Uganda. 

Our panelist Dr. Christian Lindfeld, Managing Partner, from Africa Advisors GmbH, was our guest speaker for the day, and he spoke about the difficulties and prospects for the Ugandan digital ecosystem, as well as how hubs are operating in the post-COVID era, during the first portion of the event.

The participants took part in co-creation sessions centered on three themes in the second phase: “How might we improve access to funding for African Digital Innovation Hubs?”, “How might we improve knowledge exchange between African and European DIHs so as to build the capacity?” and “How might we improve access to markets for African and European startups?”.

It was a hands-on workshop where participants brainstormed ideas for strengthening Uganda’s digital innovation centers and facilitating effective cooperation with European partners. After that, all of the groups reconvened in the plenary session, where they presented their findings and continued to discuss their respective themes with the other groups.
